When buying blinds from webwoodenblinds.co.uk you do not have to add or deduct from your sizes and there is nothing that can go wrong if ordering online. Because most of the blinds are going inside the window recess (window frame) the option by recess the blind to be of "inside, less 10 mm" is already selected. This means that we will make a 10 mm allowance from the blind's width in order operated properly inside the window frame. If your blinds are going to be installed outside the window recess or you have old windows without recess you will have to select by recess the option "outside, exact size". This means that the blind's width will be made exact size.
It is important that you select the correct option because not all the blinds are provided with pelmet returns and some are available for ordering only if you have selected outside recess. Pelmet returns are not recommended if the blind is going to be installed inside recess. For bay windows we always recommend the blinds to be ordered "outside, exact size" and have pelmet returns only on the left side of the small blind on the left side of the window and respectively the right side of the small blind on the right side of the bay window. The big blind in the middle and and the ends of the two small blinds near the middle blind should have no pelmet returns for a perfect look.
It is your responsibility to measure your window correctly. We are making the blinds according to your sizes and we won't be able to resell them therefore we won't be able to make refunds based on incorrect measurements. You must agree when buying blinds from our web site that the provisions "a seven working day cooling-off period in which the order can be canceled and a refund claimed" according to the Distance Selling Regulations (DSRs) cannot apply because personalized and custom products are excluded according to DSRs. You may not order made to measure blinds and return them after seven working days but in order to help our customer to order made to measure blinds we provide highest quality scans of the blinds online and send free samples by post. So all you have to do is to click "Download Sample" on the product page in order to see an online picture of the sample or click "Request Sample" and send a sample request. The big pictures showing the room decor on the product page are for illustration purposes only.
Note that the images and the instructions you find following the "How to Install" link are to be used with the purpose of understanding the operation mechanism and the installation process of a blind as parts may differ from one manufacturer to another. It is important that you use the installation provided together with the blinds as it will not affect the operation of the shade. For any technical questions or any special parts for blinds you might need, please contact us before placing an order.
Our customer service department is based online only. Phone calls will not be accepted. All enquires with regards to placed orders or customer services must be put in writing through the contact web page. 24-48 hours are needed for our customer service department to communicate with the suppliers and get back to you.
Please note that because the window blinds we offer are 100% natural products, colour variations may occur due to the timber used in the manufacturing process as well as the batch they come from that is why we strongly recommend that you place your order as soon as possible after receiving your samples by post. The real wood blinds are incompatible with high moisture areas such as bathrooms.
It is important to underline that even though the manufacturers might name a product after a certain wood essence, the most commonly used timber is basswood. Also, we reserve the right to change the name of a product in the case when two manufacturers have the same name for a product and when blinds with different slat sizes are similar in colour but the manufacturer has provided different names. You might receive products with different names on the box but the product inside is according to our website and samples sent.
Also note that there is a difference between the blinds industry and other industries working with wood essences, such as the flooring industry. The difference consists in the fact that the blinds industry uses certain types of timbers which are tinted. For example, whilst oak flooring will be manufactured from the actual oak tree, walnut blinds will be made of basswood and stained to resemble oak. For this reason we recommend that you first order samples by post before ordering them in the case when you want to match your flooring to your window blinds as colour differences may occur. The blinds which have been made from the exact wood species will be marked as such in the product name. e.g. "real oak".
For high risk transactions we may ask for more documents like: a copy of the credit card used, utility bill, bank auth code etc. The order will be on hold until the documents have been provided and no cancellations are possible in this situation.
Please note that in order to save time we place the order in the system almost instantly. If we specify 7 days delivery on the product page it means 7 working days from the moment the online transaction has been settled. 24 hours are required for the settlement. However cancellations of the order are not possible in the first 24 hours or after because we place the order in the system immediately after the transaction has been authorized. Cancellations and refunds are not accepted for any other particular reasons not described here. In case the blind will be faulty or made in wrong sizes we will remake it for you at no extra cost.
When receiving the goods, the person must inspect the goods for damages and sign for the parcel as damaged, if necessary. Note that the goods inside the boxes must be checked as well before signing for the packages as damaged, if the case may be.
Note that in the case of roller/blackout blinds, the drop may vary up to the maximum length we specify on-line but it will not affect the mechanisms or the operation of the blinds in any way due to their design.
Note that in the case of some areas like Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands an extra delivery fee can be requested after the order is placed. After receiving the order we make sure that the customer is informed of the extra delivery fee charged by the carrier as soon as possible. If the customer does not agree with this fee, the order can be cancelled.
